Head over The Frick Collection this Fall to enjoy a masterpiece of seventeenth-century Italian art. On loan from the Norton Simon Art Foundation in Pasadena, CA, is 'The Repentant Magdalene' (ca. 1660−63) by Guido Cagnacci. This large canvas piece is considered one of Cagnacci's most ambitious works. This eccentric painter is best known for the unashamed and often unsettling eroticism in his religious works. You will be able to see this work in New York for the first time in almost 35 years since the painting was acquired by Norton Simon Art Foundation.Children under 10 years are not admitted.
