Guided Walk through Brougham Gardens & Palmer Gardens (Parks 28 & 29)
Tag along with the experts from the Adelaide Parklands Association on Sunday the 18th of June on this guided walk through Brougham Gardens / Tantutittinga (Park 29) and Palmer Gardens / Pangki Pangki (Park 28), two of the Adelaide Parklands most historic gardens in North Adelaide.
For 183 years, Brougham Gardens / Tantutittinga (Park 29) and Palmer Gardens / Pangki Pangki (Park 28) have had a special role in the history and social culture of the city. What's special is not only the colourful floral clock, rose gardens and other formal plantings, it's the built heritage that surrounds these two gardens that is also impressive - including the tower of the Brougham Place Uniting Church.
Learn about the role of Palmer Gardens and Brougham Gardens in Adelaide's history, their hidden secrets, and their continuing role in the city's life.
Make sure you're wearing sturdy shoes and are rugged up for the conditions. This walk of about 1.6km takes approximately 1.5 hours. Meet at the corner of O'Connell Street and Brougham Place (at the traffic lights at the top of the hill). Children and dogs (on leads) are most welcome.
