Take part in a free guided walk through Perth's largest remaining bushland area on the Swan Coastal Plain.

Led by a trained Friends of Bold Park Bushland volunteer, the 90 minute walk will open your eyes to the amazing, yet threatened, flora and fauna of this region. The walk will also focus on bushland restoration within the park.

Bold Park is predominantly tuart-banksia woodlands and a staggering 310 locally-native plant taxa have been recorded in the park! The 437 hectare park also supports the common brushtail possum (Trichosurus vulpecula) white-striped mastiff bat (Tadorida australis) and Gould's wattled bat (Chalinolobus gouldii). An amazing 479 species of macrofungi have been recorded, with more probably awaiting discovery.

Bookings are not required for this walk but it is courteous to contact them if you are bringing a group larger than 5. As with any walk, wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather and bring water. There are no public toilets in Bold Park so plan before you arrive. There are some nearby in the southern end of Perry Lakes Reserve near the playground.

Bold Park offers a rare opportunity to experience some wilderness right in the middle of Perth's suburbs, without the crowds. Come and see for yourself with your very own guide. Meet at the Tuart Carpark ready for a 9am departure. Contact the volunteers on [email protected] for any queries (bookings not necessary).
