I've made it to my life's goal - the old age pension. Now I write for fun. Hope you enjoy reading.
The Guardian Angels will be with you for your day on the Bay

It's time to mark Wynnum's premier, annual event on your calendar. The Guardian Angels Primary School, 188 Bay Terrace, Wynnum is holding its Guardian Angles 2015 Fete on Sunday, 2 August, 2015. The fun starts at 10.00am and continues on until 2.00pm.

This promises to be a magnificent family outing with the first of many wonderful things to happen on the day being at the gates when you realise entry is absolutely FREE.

This event is so significant to the area that it requires a road closure in order to enable the full spread of attractions and activities. That's right, Bay Terrace will be closed between Pine and Chestnut Streets so you can enjoy the Fete in comfort and safety.

You'll need some time to get around the whole fete.

As an added bonus, when you come to the fete you will be in Brisbane's beautiful Bayside where the scenery is as wonderful as the prizes you can win and the fun you'll have at the Fete.

Dads only doing it for the kids.
There will be no end of enjoyment and sleep-inducing activities for the kids. A wonderful selection of rides will be available on the day including the littlies' favourite, Horse 'n' Tug Boats. Then there's always the colourful land train or, if you fancy a drive, you can get in behind the wheel of a mini jeep which is a wonderful experience for Dads of all ages who only do it for the kids yeah, right!

For the older kids there will be a wide selection of fright-inducing thrill rides to keep them amused including the Giant Slide, Sizzler and Hurricane.

For the benefit of the parents, you can purchase a Rides' Arm Band on the day. This will enable your child to ride everything multiple times alleviating the need for you to keep searching out those gold coins and lets you get on with the serious business of checking out all the stalls. Also, for each armband pre-purchased, you receive an entry into the prize draw for a $2000 accommodation voucher that's on top of a kid-free afternoon. Win-win, right?

Included in the day's activities will be an extensive entertainment programme. In addition to the school students' dance performances there will also be some very special performances from local dance schools such as, Wynnum Manly Physie, FAD Bayside and Bayside Dance. You should also keep your eyes and ears out for the surprise local vocalist who will entertain you with her delightfully pleasant voice.

Plus, the widely talked about and lovely historical Convent, that dominates Bay Terrace, will also be a feature on the day.

If all that isn't enough for you the Queensland Fire and Rescue and Queensland Ambulance Service will be there with some of their gear that will amaze and astound.

And to cap off the entertainment throughout the Fete, the Nova Sandman team will make a visit complete with giveaways for all.

But, and this is a huge, 'but', who comes to a school fete for the rides and entertainment? Well, okay, everybody does but they also come for the stalls. Guardian Angels 2015 Fete has arranged for some of the best local handcrafted and homemade goods' stalls to boost the day's festivities.

There will be stalls providing everything you could ever need, including cakes, sweets, drinks, delicious hot food, trash and treasure, handmade clothing, pre-loved toys and second hand books to name but a few. If you want some of the coconut-ice at the sweet stalls you better get in quick because it's my favourite!

There's something here for everyone.

For the green thumbs in the family there is going to be a large plant stall selling well-tended plants, potted cuttings and table-loads of seedlings.

As you prowl the grounds (probably searching for some coconut-ice) take the opportunity to try your luck with the art union. Buy a $5 ticket and be in the running for prizes including $1,000 in cash, outdoor 10 seater box for a Brisbane Heat match at the Gabba ($1,000), a Treasury Casino accommodation package ($775), Fruition Tuition Voucher ($500), a fitness package ($500) and a photography voucher ($385).

Even if your luck doesn't hold for the art union you can still try the super wheel or mega raffle on the day or perhaps try your luck on the fete favourite, Choc Toss.

The Guardian Angels 2015 Fete Your text goes herepromises to be a wonderful day out for the whole family made possible by the hard work and generosity of its many sponsors and the school and parish communities. Everyone is warmly welcome to enjoy this fabulous day on the Bay.
