In Gruesome Grub And Disgusting Dishes: Deliciously Edible Recipes!, by Susan Martineau and illustrated by Martin Ursell, the author states that this foul but fun book for young cooks is not for the squeamish. The book includes sweet and savory dishes, and hot/cold food and drinks.

The recipes are here to just get you started. When you are done with the recipes here, create your own. Throw a "gruesome grub" party with your friends.

For a peek at some of the recipes, here are a few:

Fish Face
A little tuna mixed with mayonnaise and sweet corn on top of bread or toast.

Maggot Cocktail
Shrimp, mayonnaise, ketchup, lemon juice, pepper, lettuce and lemon slices.

Axeman's Snacks
Hot dogs, sandwich rolls, radish and ketchup.

The above were chosen personally by myself. The author was right when she said that this book is not for the squeamish. I chose recipes that actually seem edible.

There is one drink recipe that I like but the instructions require kids to smash iced cubes with a rolling pin. I do not find crushing iced cubes with rolling pins to be safe for kids.

I found the book easy to follow. I think this cookbook should be bought by a mother wanting her kids to get interested in cooking.

I give this children's cookbook a 5-star rating.
