Meet With Friends, Share Knowledge & Purchase Plants
If you love growing a garden for personal pleasure, you probably like visiting other gardens and especially beautiful gardens in our capital cities. The Royal Botanical Garden Melbourne has over 10,000 plant species from around the world and Australia and sweeps over thirty-eight hectares of lawns with tranquil lakes and spectacular trees.

Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne is a not-for-profit membership-based organisation consisting of members who love the botanical gardens, its plants as well as support conservation and scientific research. They raise funds for projects within the gardens by holding events and activities, thereby connecting with the wider community.
On three Friday's in January – 11 January, 18 January and 25 January 2019, Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne are hosting a Growing Friends' Nursery Plant Sale. Address for the event is Gate Lodge, 100 Birdwood Avenue, Melbourne and times for the sale is from 8.00am to 12 Noon.
Members of the RBGV will receive ten percent discount on plants they purchase. Going forward, this plant sale will be a regular event for every Friday of the month, apart from months indicated as 'main sales-months'. Please remember to bring your membership card with you to receive the discount.
If you would like to become a member, fees are as follows. All fees are per year duration and include GST.
Concession - $47.00 / year (Concession)
Individual Friend (living within 50 km of Melbourne GPO) $68.00 / year incl. GST
Household Friends (Two adults living at the same address) $94.00/ year incl. GST
Passionate Friend (includes $55 donation to the Friends' Trust Fund) $ 125.00 / year incl. GST
Country/Interstate/Overseas/Student or Pensioner membership $47.00 / year incl. GST

Everyone is welcome, you do not need to be a member to be eligible to purchase plants. Don't forget to bring a bag to pop your plants into to take home.
