Best group dining options in Sydney

Group dining in Sydney

The more the merrier, as the saying goes. Group dining has never been so fashionable (albeit affordable) in Sydney for all the right reasons. For instance, at some restaurants if group bookings are made, a free bottle of wine is normally included as part of the package. Sailors Thai at The Ivy is offering one course with a glass of wine for $20 for groups of four or more, and this offer is available for lunch and dinner (between 6pm-7pm) any day of the week. The latter is even on a Friday night. These are some of the best restaurants in Sydney that welcome groups with open arms:

1. Churrasco

This brazilian BBQ on William Street is group friendly in more ways than one. A brazilian BBQ is cool at the best of times if you're with a small group. However, with larger groups (with ideally ten or more people) this experience rocks and is so awesome. A myriad of conversations are enjoyed that it is sometimes difficult to hear yourself think, yet that is the fun of this experience. For a similar experience, Churras on Oxford Street is just as great for large groups as you have your own private area upstairs.

2. New Shanghai Ashfield

A great place to eat traditional Shanghainese or Chinese food in a small group of four or five people. Dumplings always make way for a sensational group treat. Otherwise, for larger groups there are two private areas at the back of this busy restaurant for groups of 12 people to sit in a private, communal space. Great ambience in a newly renovated space is also enjoyed.

3. Din Tai Fung

Dumplings are great to share with your friends at Din Tai Fung

Another popular dumplings establishment that has opened its doors in many cities worldwide. Their savoury and sweet dumplings are delightful treats in themselves. There is ample space to enjoy at Westfield Sydney in opulent settings in a circular type seating plan. Glimpses of Hyde Park can also be enjoyed, depending on where you decide to sit. Taro dumplings anyone? Great to enjoy alone, yet super enjoyable with others.

4. Ramen Kan

Great to enjoy in a small group at Ramen Kan

This filling Japanese food mecca is designed for group eating. When you enjoy the best ramen and soups here in a small group, you're guaranteed a circular table space in which to enjoy. This is the type of establishment where you might be inspired to share some dishes with others. Come here in a group, that way you won't need to sit on a stool near the windows all too often.

Some of the best places where group dining experiences have been enjoyed in Sydney. If you come across any others, please feel free to leave your comments for the benefit of everyone. Enjoy the best that group dining in Sydney has to offer.
