Get ready for Groovin the Moo 2019, as it's checkin' in to your favourite region around Australia over three consecutive weekends. The lineup is stocked like a mini bar fridge, so it's time to get excited as there's something for everyone. Moshtix is the only official online ticketing outlet, so beware of third-party ticketing websites as legitimacy cannot be assured. Take the stress out of the equation by ensuring you have a Moshtix Account. If you don't, you can sign up here.
If you're keen on a face to face transaction, head to the info page on the website for outlets. Otherwise, you can get all your online tickets HERE for events listed below along with the lineup for each venue. You can also choose your location and head directly to tickets for your locality. The hosts are Marshes & DJ Nkay, with triple j Unearthed, Fresh Produce artists and Community programs yet to be announced. There's heaps more news coming via the socials so watch out for how you can get involved with your nearest GTM and for details on Shoot the Moo and Film the Moo competitions.
Some of the artists from GTM are also making appearances at shows outside the Festival aka sideshows. Best to check on the event pages, and keep up with the conversation and updates on the Facebook page and website. If you're unfamiliar with the artist, it's too easy to head HERE, click on the artists name which is in alphabetical order, and out pops the info, like a jack-in-the-box. There's also a link on the same page to Spotify, so you can hear snippets of music from each artist.
The latest additions to the lineup couldn't get any better with two cheeky surprises in the form of Wafia and Jimothy. Wafia is Brisbane-based and is a perfect mix between touching, heartfelt tracks and dance floor siren songs. With a blend of soulful, broody, and electronic-pop, you'll be singing along in no time. Jimothy aka Timmy Gonzalez 'Hates being lazy, hates being dumb, hangs with posh white kids and loves his darling mum'; brings a new wave of UK rap from North London.
Billie Eilish from the USA may only be 17, but she's fast becoming a global pop phenomenon with her debut EP amassing more than 1.5 billiion combined streams worldwide since release in 2017. She's also released 'bury a friend' a song and music video that's a little eerie and unsettling, channelling some serious horror movie vibes. This little avocado has a mesmerising stage presence and in-depth lyrics, so get excited to see her on the GTM tour for the first time!
There are amazing artists galore including Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern, the duo better known as Sofi Tucker from the USA. They're taking their infectiously unique style of house-inspired jungle pop to the stage, plus they have a bunch of sideshows happening in April and May in Wayville, Maitland, Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Bendigo, Townsville, Brisbane, Perth and Bunbury. There's so much more happening, you need to have your ears to the ground and start getting tickets before they're all sold out!
