A stay at home Mum who doesn't stay at home much; too many exciting things to be discovering in this city...
A festival for the whole family
In October, Halley Park will come alive to the sounds of young, emerging musicians as part of the annual Groove and Graze Festival in Bentleigh. Mosey on down with your picnic rug or deck chair and relax in the park whilst sampling some tasty tucker from one of the many food trucks.
Halley Park on Jasper Road is a popular weekend spot for families in the Bentleigh area. It has a great playground with a vast array of colourful play equipment, as well as picnic tables and barbeques with plenty of shade. Between noon and 8pm on the 26th of October, this park will play host to a family-friendly event as part of the Groove and Graze festival. Groove and Graze is a series of free events held at parks across Glen Eira in the spring, aimed at local families.
Arrive hungry so that you can make the most of a wide selection of food trucks. There will also be a pop-up bar from which to purchase alcohol and soft drinks. You can chill out to the sounds of a range of up-and-coming musicians as the kids run off some steam in the playground or on the basketball court. Some artists from previous events have included Universal Outcast, The Belafontes and Juice Webster.
