I am a writer living in Annerley, Brisbane. I write about my suburb and other local spots. If you like my articles please subscribe (just after my name) or 'like' at the end of the post to let me know what else I should write! I love comments too :)
This little gem is situated on the main drag through Annerley Junction on Ipswich Road and has been serving hot coffee, beautiful cakes and sweet treats along with a very reasonably priced breakfast and lunch menu for the last five years or more.
The eclectic decor and no-fuss, comfortable seating accommodates a small crowd and feels like you're dining in your best friends house rather than a busy cafe.
A green 'grassy' patch is the most recent addition to the cafe and some bistro-style seating accommodates an additional six diners on busy days. While it's a bit noisy outside, it's perfect for a quieter Saturday for weekend brunch.
I loved the sweet corn fritters which came with rocket, sour cream and a delicious relish. Medium size portions are a winner for me and I prefer to pay a smaller amount for a more moderate amount of food. The scrambled eggs were as light as clouds and were so tasty with a little chorizo mixed through.
For lunch, you can't go past the smoked salmon, rocket, capers and cream cheese toasted Turkish. It's truly the best sandwich I've had in years.
Really hearty fare which doesn't leave you feeling over-full, this is one of my favourite haunts for breakfast, lunch and snacks between.
