Who says you can't find cheap groceries in Brisbane? That person must've never been to Inala.

As an Asian international student (not stereotyping here!), I'm constantly on the lookout for cheaper groceries, mainly because the prices of food is much higher than what I can get from my home country. And this is where Inala Town Centre and Inala Plaza Shopping Centre comes into the picture.

Fresh vegetables and fruits are laid out in the open for shoppers to choose, and most Asian food supplies can be found in the Asian grocery shops located within the town centre. They also have a few butcher stores and seafood markets that sells reasonably cheap foodstuff.

Shopping in Inala, to me, is like being in the mid point between a wet market and a supermarket. You get cheap products, but you'll probably need to do some additional work (such as thoroughly washing your vegetables or being extra meticulous in the selection process). In my opinion, most of the groceries that can be found in Inala are considered much cheaper than those you can find in the supermarkets. So, if your purpose is to be more economic in grocery buying, Inala might just be ideal for you!

Besides, Woolworths, Coles and The Reject Shop can also be found in the plaza shopping centre. So you can get both the cheap stuff and everything else that cannot be found in the town centre from the plaza! All in one trip!

1: If you're looking to get the cheapest fruits and vegetables, walk around the place before settling for one store. Because they have many shops that sells the same stuff and the prices differ.

2: Be very picky when it comes to fruits. Some of them have been under the sun for most of the day, so you'll want to pick those that will last!
