I'm in Melbourne often enough - so why not write a bit about some places I've seen :)

There are many ways for the good old burger to be presented: cooked up on a barbecue in the backyard, on a plate with salad and chips, and even Grill'd.
Grill'd stores have been popping up at various locations around Melbourne, cooking up delicious, nutritious and satisfying burgers at great prices, considering the amount of filling they manage to stuff inside that bun. All burgers on the menu are priced somewhere between $9 and $15, depending on the type of filling.
There is also a kids menu which goes beyond the typical chips and chicken nuggets, giving the little ones options such as a Mini Moo snack burger or a Chicken Mini Me Pack. As for those with a larger appetite, there are selections including beef, steak, chicken or lamb for the meat-lovers. Vegetarians and vegans need not worry, there are three delicious options of veggie burgers, all jam-packed and stacked with veggie patties, mushrooms or a tasty chickpea patty.
Take your choice between a traditional sesame seed bun or a Panini bread bun – you will probably have to come back twice to try each and decide that way which you like best! One thing not to look past on the menu is the scrumptious hot chips in regular size or snack size. The choice between the herb mayo, tomato relish, or sweet chilli mayo dipping sauces may seem a little difficult at first, but either option will delight those taste buds. Oh, and the best bit is that you won't be kept waiting long for you meal. The staff do an excellent job in getting the orders out as soon as possible and rarely will they get an order wrong.

Now let's face it, Grill'd is a great place for a decent sized lunch or dinner on a budget. But it's not a classy restaurant – and it's not meant to be. This is just a chilled out place to come and grab a good feed. This is not somewhere you want to take your girlfriend on a first date, however.
The burgers are big, and they are absolutely stuffed to the brim with fillings. It's hard to avoid beetroot juice and tomato relish dripping onto your plate as you try to open your mouth wide enough to get around the bun and take a good bite. Your fingers and hands will get messy, probably trying to catch a piece of lettuce as it falls hopelessly from the bun.
So if you want to avoid looking like a beetroot out of embarrassment, save this place for lunch with someone you're totally comfortable with and not afraid to make a mess of yourself while eating.
There are heaps of locations for Grill'd in and around the city so once you've had one burger, cravings will probably spark up again when you walk past the stores. These burgers should come with a label warning of addiction.
In Melbourne city itself, there are four locations to find Grill'd, on 15 Degraves Street, level 3 in Melbourne Central on Swanston Street, Melbourne QV on level 2 corner Swanston and Lonsdale Street, and in Southgate down by the river next to the arts centre. For more information on store locations in the suburbs and opening hours, check out the website.
So next time you feel that stomach rumbling away and need something tasty and gratifying to fill it up, find a Grill'd and you'll walk out with one full belly!
Great article. We discovered Grill'd just a couple of days ago in Bendigo whilst on holidays. My rather fussy 7 year old actually ate a mini chicken burger and then.....claimed it to be "way better than Macca's" !! And I have to say I do like the variety of burgers on offer. I have to go back because there where so many delicious sounding burgers on offer. My husband was rapt that he could have a beer with his burger. You can't do that at your cheaper priced burger joints. Thumbs up from my clan.
Have been to Grill'd at Westfield Shopping Centres Fountain Gate and Southland. The burgers are excellent very tasty not greasy and I love the sour dough rolls. I have also tried there various salads they are quite filling and a proper salad not like Macca's which consists of mainly lettuce. It is good to find a place you can buy healthy burgers and also have so many choices. Staff are always polite and greet you with a smile.
