is a newly renovated, multipurpose venue in heart of the city. Formerly known as
The Griffins Head Hotel, this establishment in Hindmarsh Square has undergone not just a name change, but an interior overhaul as well. The decor looks modern, and it offers a casual, yet fine dining experience.
Not only can you go there for lunch and dinner, but you can pop in throughout the day for a drink at the bar, or even have a work function there. Quite a few function rooms are available, so there is likely to be something to suit the size of your group, and matching beverage packages to go with it.
If you do head there for a meal, be aware it can get pretty busy, so allow a decent amount of time for lunch or dinner. I went there on a weekday for lunch with some friends and most of the tables were filled. Quite surprisingly however, the food still came out reasonably quickly.
The menu consists of your standard pub food, however the quality is pretty good. We shared a chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce, a beef parmagiana, a stone oven pizza, and a crumbed barramundi salad. I enjoyed each of them, but a few more chips with the schnitzels would have been nice.
If time permits, why not have a cocktail or a couple of drinks after your meal. If you have to head back to work after lunch, an alcoholic beverage or two may just make your afternoon a lot better.
