Christmas activities, Santa and pet Greyhounds
Retired Greyhounds make wonderful pets and the Greyhound Adoption Program in South Australia is dedicated to finding new homes for these gentle, loyal and loving animals. Each year they host a Christmas Open Day/Adoption Day for the public to help raise awareness about the fostering and adoption of retired Greyhounds.
This year the Christmas Open Day/Adoption Day will be held on Saturday 29th November from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm at 55 Cardigan Street, Angle Park. Entry is free and everyone is welcome to come along for a great family day out. You will be able to enjoy lots of fun activities for young and old and take the opportunity to meet some of the Greyhounds who are waiting to be adopted into loving, nurturing homes now that their racing careers are over.

Activities on the day will include a Bouncy Castle for kids AND adults, stalls, games, playgroup and more. Greyhounds in fancy dress will compete for the best dressed prize and a Sausage Sizzle will keep human hunger pangs at bay. Santa and his good friend, Gary the Greyhound, will be arriving during the day to visit the children and DJ, InZane, will keep the music flowing.

If you are considering the possibility of adding a dog to your family, come along to meet some Greyhounds and find out what beautiful pets they make. They are very easy dogs to care for with their short coats and low exercise requirements. They don't bark a lot, they are usually friendly and affectionate with people and most of them get along well with other pets. You will have an opportunity to interact with some of the Greyhounds and talk to members of the Adoption Program to help you decide if a Greyhound would suit you and your family. And even if you decide not to adopt a Greyhound you will still enjoy a great family day out.
