A rare opportunity to meet real life artists! For the 8th consecutive year, the local artists of Greenwich will be opening their doors to visitors to discover the inner workings of an artist's studio - and the inner workings of their minds!
All are invited to enjoy this FREE annual community event which takes place in scenic Greenwich on Sydney's Lower North Shore. Spend the weekend of 2nd & 3rd November exploring 24 sites, including private studios, galleries and home spaces which are usually closed to the public.
On display is a diverse range of works, including oil, acrylic and watercolour paintings, pastel and ink drawings, children's book illustrations, bronze, ceramic and wooden sculptures, pottery, jewellery, textiles and photographs by 29 talented local artists, from professionals who have been hung in the Archibald and won many prizes and awards, to highly skilled hobbyists working for decades alongside successful business careers, to talented newcomers presenting their art for the very first time.
Come along and ask questions, learn about art and how it is made, and even take the opportunity to purchase art directly from the artist - a great chance to start shopping for Christmas.
The Greenwich Village Arts Trail 2019 is on the first weekend of November, with artworks on display and for sale from 10am-4pm on both Saturday and Sunday. There are maps and information available on the website www.greenwichvillageartstrail.com.au or look for samples of the artists' work on the Greenwich Village Arts Trail FB and Instagram sites.
Visitors can arrive by ferry, train, or bus and walk between the 24 artist sites or catch the free shuttle bus around the beautiful harbourside suburb. Or come by car as there is plenty of street parking available.
Enjoy a meal at one of the local cafes and or picnic in one of the many local parks.
