The Greenleaf Memoir & Family History Writing Weekend is set to be a creative, inspiring and cathartic experience for memoir writers.
Over two jam-packed days on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 March 2019, you'll have the opportunity to hear from a stellar line-up of expert award-winning authors, family history researchers and publishing industry professionals on the gorgeous Sunshine Coast in South East Queensland.
Held at Maroochy Waterfront Camp and Conference Centre, this wonderful weekend writing experience will uncover how to best to research, plan, write and publish your very own autobiography, memoir, biography or family history.
Spend time networking, sharing and learning with other like-minded individuals. There will also be plenty of variety, inspiration and stimulation and free time where you can relax, unwind or write to your heart's content.
The Memoir & Family History Writing Weekend has been specially designed to cover the key elements that will set you on the path to researching, planning and writing your own story.

If you have already started your writing journey, Saturday afternoon offers time to meet one-on-one for an Assessment & Publishing Meeting with award-winning author, Aleesah Darlison, to discuss your manuscript in progress. Aleesah can provide guidance on how best to progress your story; whether your structure, setting, voice and characterisation are working; and how to get your story published and with who.
Also included in the weekend is the Saturday Night Dinner with guest speaker, a Sunday morning Beginner Yoga & Meditation session, a Pop-Up Bookstore, and a Lunchtime Book Launch masterclass presenter, Allison Paterson.
The Maroochy Waterfront Camp and Conference Centre is a short distance from the major centre of Maroochydore, Sunshine Plaza and the Sunshine Coast Airport. It's easily accessible by car. For those travelling from interstate, flights arrive and depart Sunshine Coast Airport daily. Shuttles, taxis and hire cars can be organised from the airport. Walking tracks all along the waterfront allow for casual morning and afternoon strolls before and after the day's events, set against a magnificent, natural backdrop where native animal and birdlife abound.
