Model, writer and mother Carolyn Donovan, author of Chooks In Stilletos brings her humorous wisdom to the Logan Central Library on November 1st with the presentation of her book Greenies In Stiletos: How To Save The World Without Really Trying. Sounds promising, doesn't it?
From 10:30 to Midday, Carolyn will reveal her secrets to living an earth-friendly lifestyle without compromising style, glamour or fashion. She unleashes upon Logan the five easy steps to saving the world - in your wardrobe, on your face, in your home and, believe it or not, in the world around you.
Afterwards, the floor will be opened up to questions from the audience and it's sure to be an enlightening experience as Ms Donovan speaks up about her child hood in Sydney with her "adventurous" parents who "liked to move house a lot" as well as becoming a model - quite by accident - and the exentensial crisis that ensued as she struggled to deal with the sudden, glamorous lifestyle and the nagging feeling that she had wished away her teenage years.
Perhaps most importantly, she speaks about the most important moments in her life, including learning to read which she describes as having the most "monumental" affect on her life. She goes on to say that becoming a parent is a big influence and completely changed her outlook on what is important in life, and, of course, the realisation that the Earth is something that deserves the care and attention of the human race.
