Located opposite Woolworths in Arndale Shopping Centre,
Green Options is a good option for those looking for quick and delicious cafe-style food. Their sandwiches, baguettes and wraps can be requested to be heated up prior to being served.
The Haloumi Crispy Bacon Focaccia had slices of bacon that were not overcooked. A change of texture was provided by haloumi. For those concerned about the cheesiness of the haloumi, its flavour was mild with a hint of saltiness. A drizzling of mayonnaise ensured that the sandwich was not dry. We liked that the focaccia was light and fluffy and remained that way even after it was toasted.

The pieces of chicken in their Karaage Chicken Wrap were juicy, with the crisp coating setting off the flesh nicely. It had the slight gingery taste that we associate with Karaage Chicken. Freshness was provided by tomatoes and rocket leaves and the spiciness of the spicy mayonnaise is suitable for those not used to spicy foods.

When ordering their salads, diners choose a “base” followed by their choice of dressing. During our visit, we chose a half-and-half mix of Chicken Caesar and Chicken Schnitzel Salad. The strips of chicken schnitzel in the Chicken Schnitzel Salad were not tough, and freshness was provided by tomatoes and avocado. Cucumber chunks added a bit of bite and the quantity of salad greens was generous.
Their Chicken Caesar had moist chunks of chicken breast which was contrasted by the crisp croutons. Compared to the Chicken Schnitzel Salad, shredded lettuce was used as the main component to give it a crisp and fresh flavour. Completing the dish were hard-boiled eggs and strips of bacon. We chose siracha mayonnaise for the dressing, which was not too hot.

We liked that the layers of sponge cake in their Tiramisu were moist and light and had the degree of coffee flavour we expected. The layers of cream acted as a foil to the coffee flavour and the topping of cocoa powder added a hint of chocolate flavour. While not apparent from individual slices, the words “tiramisu” decorated the top of the cake. It can be ordered as a combo deal that includes a small cup of coffee.

For seating, diners can choose to sit within the cafe or at the tables just outside of it. Its location makes it a convenient option for shoppers wanting quick and tasty cafe food.
