Learn practical tips about how you can live more sustainably at this year's Green Heart Fair on Sunday 26 May 2024 at Victoria Park, Herston.



The community festival will have eco-experts available to provide practical information and useful advice on sustainable living. At the same time, you can enjoy live entertainment, pick up some original pieces at the artisan markets, watch wildlife shows, grab a bite to eat at the food trucks, pick up a thrifting bargain and try the fun activities.

There will also be free native plant pack giveaways to help you plant or further stock your garden. With a focus on disaster management, the fair will also present a hub dedicated to flood resilience, showcasing some simple cost-effective ways to build flood resilience at home, to help you prepare for, live through and recover quickly from flood events.

Everyone's favourite Heeler Family will be there with Bluey and Bingo presenting a special show for the whole family. Performances are at 10:30 am, 12:10 pm and 2 pm.

Spoke Sixteen and Cycling Brisbane will be offering free bike riding workshops for the kids. With two workshops at 10:45 am and 11:45 am kids will learn new skills to help them navigate the mountain bike trails or simply to ride on the bikeways at their local park.



These workshops are designed for kids who are confident riding a bike and will cover cornering, braking, gear changing, some short climbs and more. In living its message, hydration stations will be available across the fair for visitors to refill their reusable bottles and decrease the use of single-use plastic bottles.

If you would like to help out, volunteering opportunities are available available from handing out free native plants and washing the reusable cups at the mug library, to working with the organiser's multimedia team.



Victoria Park is an open green space set over 64 acres and is located at Herston Road, Herston (opposite the Royal Brisbane Hospital). The Green Heart Fair is open from 9 am to 3 pm. Entry is free and all are welcome. The fair is an initiative of the Brisbane City Council .
