$10 microchips at 10 different locations
On the weekend of 21st and 22nd November you will be able to get your dogs and cats microchipped for just $10.00 at 10 different locations around South Australia. With the South Australian government currently considering compulsory microchipping for all cats and dogs this is your chance to have your pet microchipped at a bargain price.
Microchipped pets which become lost have a much greater chance of being returned to their owners quickly than those which are not microchipped. This not only reduces stress and anxiety for both owners and pets, but also decreases the enormous burden on shelters which hold lost pets, and diminishes the cost to local councils.
Lost, microchipped cats are more likely to be quickly returned to their owners.
Locations where you will be able to access $10.00 microchipping include Allenby Gardens, Burnside, Edinburgh North, Melrose Park, Munno Para, Noarlunga, Parafield, Port Lincoln, Prospect and Wingfield. Specific details of the locations and contact phone numbers can be obtained from the Chip Blitz website.
To save waiting time on the day you can phone your preferred location to make a booking, complete the online registration form, print it out and take it with you.
Microchipped dogs are more likely to be returned home quickly if they become lost.
Dogs and cats attending the microchipping locations must be suitably and safely controlled. All dogs should be held on a short lead and dogs which are known to display fear aggression should be muzzled. Cats must be contained in suitable, secure, closed carry cages. Animals which are not controlled or caged will be refused entry to the location and will not be microchipped.
