The Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (GOCC) named as such, started a quarter of a century ago when a Polish music journalist and his friends put together a rock gig to raise money for a cardio surgery ward at a pediatric hospital. The success of this one-off event led to establishing the GOCC Foundation, and since then, every year in January the Poles celebrate it and support a different cause each time.
This was then emulated in Melbourne by a few Poles 2 years ago to see if they could pull off a Grand Finale in Australia; and obviously they did and could. This is the 4th fundraiser and proceeds are going towards paediatric surgery and treatment for children's hospitals in Poland. You're invited to have fun and support this fundraiser on Sunday 12 January 2020 from 1-5pm at Elwood Sailing Club, 5 Elwood Foreshore, Elwood.
There's lots of fun activities for the children to enjoy, live music, live auctions, lotteries, Polish food and so much more. Run entirely by a team of passionate and dedicated volunteers, this fundraiser supplements what is not sufficient enough funding from the Government and EU. It aids the public healthcare system by making it possible for medical research and development to continue to thrive. Stay in touch via the event page for updates and for interaction with the organisers.
