Free school holiday fun
The Grove Shopping Centre

Head to The Grove for all your school holiday fun. From 10 am to 2 pm from Monday 28 September through to Friday 9 October 2020 (excluding the long weekend), head to The Grove Shopping Centre, The Golden Way, Golden Grove and collect your free map (located outside Drakes).

Follow the trail and name all the fruit and vegetables within the centre then return to collect your prize. Hurry in as there are limited maps and prizes available.

SA Museum

Download your free photography trail from the website, bring along your camera and collect and create your own top 10 nature photographs.

Fees may be required to enter the exhibition. Children under 13 years free (accompanied by paying adult), adults $10, concession $7.

Geocaching with Active Ed

Join the Coventry Library Stirling, 63 Mount Barker Road, Stirling on a GPS treasure hunt. Find the hidden boxes using a GPS device to locate given geocaches and find the box.

Recommended for children aged 7 years and old with parental supervision. Activity is located in Apex Park. Registration essential.

Kite Making at the Hewett Centre

Decorate and assemble your own kite at The Hewett Community Function Centre, 28 Kingfisher Drive, Hewett on Friday 9 October 2020, sessions are available at 1 pm and 2.30 pm.

All materials needed to assemble your very own kite is provided. Bookings are essential.

Barossa Libraries are offering a range of great free school holiday activities.

Plant spring seeds and take home for your garden at the Lyndoch Library, 29 Barossa Valley Way, Lyndoch on Tuesday 29 September 2020 at 10 am, Mount Pleasant Library, 128 Melrose Street, Mount Pleasant at 1.30 pm and Tanunda Library, 66 Murray Street, Tanunda on Tuesday 6 October 2020 at 10 am. Activity is suitable for children aged 5 12 years and runs for approximately 45 minutes. Bookings are essential.

Join Chris Hall at the Mount Pleasant Library, 128 Melrose Street, Mount Pleasant for a bird watching experience on Thursday 8 October 2020 at 2 pm. Learn all about bird characteristics, how they live and how to identify them in the wild. The session will finish with a short bird-watching walk, so bring your hat and sunscreen. Children must be between 4 and 12 years of age. The activity lasts for approximately 1 hour. Registration is essential.

Fly a kite at Lyndoch Village Green, 2 Barossa Valley Way, Lyndoch on Friday 9 October 2020 at 10 am. Join library staff to make and fly your own kite. Suitable for children between 5 and 12 years, activity lasts for approximately 45 minutes. Bookings are essential.

Join in an interactive wildlife show at Nuriootpa Soldier's Memorial Hall, 46 Murray Street, Nuriootpa on Wednesday 7 October 2020 at 10 am. Presented by Wilbur's Wildlife, this activity is suitable for children aged between 4 and 12 years and runs for approximately 1 hour. Bookings are essential.
