No matter if you're a car enthusiast, collector, or just want to support the great charity that it's in aid off, there is something for everyone at the RACV Great Australian Rally held annually at the Mornington Racecourse.
Last year attracted over 800 vintage cars, motorbikes and trucks that raised $62,000 for the Peter Mac Cancer Centre. I'm sure each year is only going to get bigger and better.
This year's event will be held on the 19th of January at the Mornington Racecourse. The Rally has three meeting points, so if you can't make it to Mornington you will still be able to catch a glimpse of some of the classic vehicles entered in the rally at:
The man of the house likes to go down and have a look at the cars to see what's new, and just to be a bloke surrounded by cars, engines, motorbikes and did I mention cars? Admittedly I have skipped a few and perhaps attend every second or third year ( it's not as exciting for me) but when I'm there I do enjoy picking out a car for myself each time. My all time favourite was a white Mercedes Gullwing ( that I'd happily own if I had a spare million dollars or so). After seeing that car I gave up hope of finding anything that surpasses it and gave up going to the car show/rally but trust me, I still here about all the cars that were there.
This year 5 lucky couples were announced as winners of a competition to ride to the Mornington Racecourse in a vintage Reo Speedwagon bus that is owned by Ventura. This competition has been extremely popular in the last few years that it has been on offer and has seen the additions of other competitions such as most original costumes and best dressed up groups, children, ladies and men.
There was a picture of a previous winner standing next to their bright yellow car and both husband and wife dressed in equally bright yellow to match.

Mornington Jazz orchestra will be keeping the crowds entertained, there will also be stalls selling food, drinks and other items.
