Event:
Come and watch these dogs waddle along on their walk
I love most dogs - admittedly, I prefer large dogs to small ones but I have a friend who has a long-haired dachshund. He is really very cute and quite adorable.

They have these very odd small legs which I sometimes think look so totally wrong on a dog that really does look like a sausage. They are occasionally known as a wiener dog, which of course means sausage dog.

The dachshund was actually bred to follow badgers and catch them, and therefore they can get into small places generally. With its short legs and long, powerful body, the dachshund could follow a badger right down to its hole.

A dachshund walk should be a hoot with all those tiny legs walking along with their owners!

This event will be held on 9th June 2019 from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm at South Bank Parklands. It will be a walk, which is on at various locations around Australia to celebrate these quirky sausages and their challenges.

Last year's walk was a great success and this year's will be hopefully, bigger and better than last year. Last year was the inaugural walk, so this year any problems should be ironed out and the event should run smoothly.

The dachshund walk is free to attend, however, they would appreciate a gold coin donation. It is run by Devoted 2 Dachshunds Rescue who are a registered charity.

The Committee of Management has about 23 dachshunds, most of which were rescues or re-homes. They have a wealth of experience and knowledge which enables Devoted 2 Dachshunds Rescue to be totally devoted to dachshunds.

At Devoted 2 Dachshunds Rescue, their only passion is the dachshunds and they work hard at placing any dogs that may come into their care.

They do not charge for a re-homing service to dachshund owners. Devoted 2 Dachshunds Rescue has a team of volunteer coordinators and foster carers who are there to help prospective owners as well as owners of this lovely breed. They ensure that each dog that is re-homed goes to a loving, forever home.

Devoted 2 Dachshunds Rescue will be there at this function to watch the little legs make their way on this walk to raise awareness for their plight.
