The Great Australian Beer Festival sounds perfect for our Aussie way of life. Who doesn't love a coldie on a hot day. Only in its fifth year and held at the Geelong Racecourse - 99 Breakwater Rd, Geelong on 18 February 2017 from 12pm to 8pm, there's plenty to appeal to more than just the beer lovers.
More of a colourful, social and family friendly event, it attracts over 5000 beer lovers and has brewers from all over the country at the event. Click here to grab your tickets online, as it's a tad more expensive at the gate.
Primarily a massive alfresco beer tasting and appreciation event, a few changes have been made this year; like a 3rd stage of musos, featuring nationally recognised performers, including The Potbelleez and 70's icon Richard Clapton among more than 20 live acts.
There'll also be a designated international beer hall with brews from all over the word available to taste. This event comes with a fully inclusive VIP area and a keg rolling competition which will expand to include festival goers who can get involved in a variety of themed races. This event is designed to stimulate more than your tastebuds, through a smorgasbord of 200 plus beer and ciders can't hurt.
New this year, local cocktail king Gorge Camorra will be mixing beer cocktails. To discover his amazing flavours, find the 'Meet Gertrude' van near the main stage.
To really enjoy the day in style, the new and exclusive VIP area with both indoor and outdoor options may be the place for you. A birds eye view of the main stage, your own toilets, food available all day from the hands of award winning local chef Jesse Hughs and more, this is the ultimate experience. I suggest you get in quick as tickets will be running out the door.
