Why, it's Greased lightning! Calling all beauty school dropouts, T-Birds and Pink Ladies, the drive ins are back and this time, one of the best-loved classic films will be on the big screen. The best part of this whole experience is, is that if you are the one who drives, then you're not going to be the one who gets stranded at the drive-in like Danny did. So head to the Galaxy drive in theatres to watch Sandy and Danny dance and sing in
Grease at the Drive-In!
If you've never been to a drive in before, and there are many people out there that haven't, then you're in for a real treat. The drive-ins are a fairly simple idea. You drive up in your car, sometimes you have to tune in to a radio station, sometimes you get a speaker for your car and then you settle in to watch the movie from your house. It's a great concept, where you are safely in your own car and able to enjoy the movie in private. You can take your friends and family in the car and usually you only pay per car. There are snacks to buy sometimes, but usually, it makes more sense to bring anything you want in your car.
You can even go and watch the movie in your PJs if you want, it's your car after all. However, it is encouraged that you dress up like a character from
Grease. Make sure to have plenty of time to squeeze yourself into the pleather black one-piece that Sandy wears.!
And if you haven't seen
Grease, then you are going to be pleasantly surprised. Despite the slightly strange ending! With the exotic exchange student, Sandy arriving at Rydell High after a passionate summer in Australia with Danny, they rekindle the romance after a few false starts. The bad boy of the school and the sweeter-than-sugar innocent girl are fated to be together of course. This romantic story is only made better by the musical songs and the dance numbers.
If you want to be in the carpark and of course, the audience of the drive in, then you will want to book your parking spot early. For $35, you can take a car full of people to watch
