As a mum of two young preschool kids, I completely appreciate the number of playgroups and activities in Canberra for this age group. It is heartening to see the number of grandparents that also attend these children's' groups and activities. It is also encouraging to see playgroups set up specifically for grandparents. Grandparents' groups are fantastic as they also offer a way for mature carers to socialise whilst spending time with their little ones, especially if they are retired and would like to make new social connections.

One such Grandparents Group is run at the Australian National Botanic Gardens every Thursday from 10.00 am – 11.30am, in the Banks Building. Grandparents are simply encouraged to bring their little ones along for a play.

Spaces for this playgroup are limited, so if you are keen to come along, make a booking by contacting ANBG Education on 02 6250 9408 or email
