Compass Pizza and Bar are proud to offer Melbourne's only GRAND PIANO open mic night for amateur and seasoned musicians looking to have fun or to impress their date.
The venue boasts a mahogany grand piano lit by the ambient glow from a lamp in a corner. Hear the ivories tinkled from 7 pm to 10 pm on Wednesday while enjoying a pizza or two. If you are brave enough, get up there and play a couple of tunes yourself!
Premiering on the 14th of June, the success of the idea sent forth a burst of responses from eager participants in the public. Now due to popularity, the bar increased the frequency of the piano open night from once fortnightly to EVERY WEEK!
Encouraging pianists of all levels to have a go at this no-judgement space. However... the ironclad rule is that there shall be no 'Heart and Soul' or 'Chopsticks' played lest everyone deserts Compass.
Should you also wish to sing along to your piano playing, Compass caters for that special jazz number or pop star in you with a mic upon request.
