Want some home renovating ideas?
Grand Designs Live started in 2012 and it has been a popular festival ever since.

This event was at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre and it went for three days.

It is about $20 online and $29 at the door for an adult but it didn't include the Kevin Mc Cloud sessions which were $75- $180 each.

Guests were treated to a movie in the home theatre section, a garlic bun from Fisher and Paykel (one of their sponsors), tastings of sauce and juice. There was also free information sessions on sustainability practices.

It wasn't about the food, it was more about gaining some new ideas for renovating the home and garden on the cheap. What I loved was the space saving ideas, such as the movable bench and the outdoor entertainment table with the fireplace inside.

Whilst there was lunch there were also some tapas style bars with champagne. This was a nice touch as not many events have this (with the exception of the Good Food and Wine Show).
Hydra tap

What was new was the artists' alley, where people can buy and see the artworks.

Do go to next year's one as it will be bigger and better.
