If you're looking for an energetic, fun outdoor activity to keep kids busy in Chiang Mai, Grand Canyon Water Park is the perfect place to visit. The site is a converted quarry, which was used during the construction of the international airport and is now a popular place to relax and swim.

From the moment we entered the gates, the fun began. A mini cart took us down to the change rooms, where we were given life jackets and headed straight for the water. Grand Canyon Water Park is filled with colorful floating slides, swings, tunnels and bouncy trampolines. Each section offers a different kind of physical challenge, from rock climbing to kangaroo hopping to conquering the giant see saw.

There are also several long ziplines for a bird's eye view across the canyon as well as a 5 meter high jumping/diving platform. In terms of safety and security, there are at least a dozen life guards on duty at all times and every participant must wear a life jacket. After all the climbing and swimming, food will be required. There is a delicious cafe on site serving plenty of family friendly meals and drinks.

To finish off, we enjoyed a unique fish foot spa, where the little "doctor fish" nibbled away the dead skin from between our toes. By the end of the day, we were exhausted and all agreed it was difficult to leave such a fun place.
