Known for its burgers, New York inspired Gramercy Social, is perfect for large social gatherings. Open every day of the year, the breakfast menu is served until 1pm, and an all day dining menu includes burgers, salads, and small and large plates. Happy hour on seven days a week from 4-7pm.
Most of my fellow diners delighted in burgers named after New York hot spots and boroughs with fillings ranging from vegetarian to soft shell crab, chicken, and 100% grass fed Yarra Valley beef. Available with regular or gluten-free buns or naked, as well as add-ins such as maple bacon. Fries were an additional order, however, one serve was enough to share among 5 people given the size of the burgers.
Other delectable choices included fall off the bone lamb shanks; blue spanner crab spaghettini with rocket, tomatoes, capers and a hint of chilli (gluten free pasta available); home made vegetarian gnocchi; and grilled lamb chops.
Though an extensive menu, the chef was happy to custom make a salad to accommodate my dietary requirements. The outcome, a delicious serve of grilled salmon, with a side salad of rocket, tomato, cucumber, and sweet potato with a simple dressing of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It pays to ask!
