What do an iconic princess/Hollywood movie star from the Golden age, and the regional town of Bendigo, central Victoria have in common? Well, okay, gold, I guess, but other than that, the links are not immediately obvious.
As it turns out, the stonking Bendigo Regional Art Gallery, has pulled off another international coup with the staging of
'Grace Kelly: Style Icon'. Opened on 11th March by none other than the current Princess of Monaco, Charlene, this glamorous exhibition showcases a wide range of Grace Kelly's magnificent couture outfits and costumes, from both her public life as a princess and her movie career.
Because the event is so popular, entry is timed and
tickets ($20 adult) should be bought in advance. This is especially so if you are heading up over Easter or the school holidays. The exhibition closes on 17th June.
Bendigo is a brilliant destination for a day trip from Melbourne with excellent
train connections leaving hourly from Southern Cross Station and taking less than 2 hours. If you want to live it like Grace, then Bendigo Tourism is offering glamorous Grace
accommodation and exhibition packages which will leave you wanting more.
