Firstly I always love trying new places, secondly I have veggie mates and it would be great to have a place where they have loads of choice when we meet up, and finally being 7 months pregnant eating healthy has never been more important.
Based in Centro Mall in Surfers Paradise it is situated in a blink-and-you-miss-it location, just behind Gloria Jeans Cafe and Star Shots photo studio.
It offers an Asian inspired hot buffet and cold salad bar which includes casseroles, rices, soups, kofta, potato bakes, lentils, tofu salads, currys, pasta salads, samosa, spring rolls and more. The boast that it is healthy alternatives, organic vegetables and no MSG, plus gluten free options are also available.
I had the spring rolls with sweet chilli sauce, and a garden salad which was pesto pasta with spinach leaves and pumpkin, which was lovely. A slightly odd combination but that's the beauty of a buffet, you can pick and choose whatever you want and experiment with flavours and tastes.
Portion sizes are good and for both lunch and dinner it is just $9.90 per person, all you can eat, woo hoo! So you can fill up on whatever you want, knowing its all healthy, organic and natural and it will save you money too. They have a no sharing rule which is fair enough, as lets face it, there aren't many places on the Gold Coast you can get a meal for under 10 bucks.
For those with a sweet tooth, there are cakes and treats available that are 100% vegan and looked really good. On my list to try next time.
The decor is Asian inspired with funky art and statues and parasols, which give it a cool vibe and makes it different than other places in Surfers and the Gold Coast.
Due to the location in the mall it's possibly not somewhere you would go for a nice meal out, but certainly its a great alternative place for lunch or dinner with mates before you head out or after a day at the beach, shopping or site seeing.
