You can do a self-guided tour of the State Apartments, visit the historic stables mews, and enjoy the surrounding 11 hectares of gardens. And there are lots of things to do for the whole family, not just see historic buildings. All in all, it's a great day out for everyone.
Many family-focused activities on the day will keep everyone interested. Retired champion racehorses from Living Legends will be there to see and pat in the historic 19th century Hopetoun Stables. A variety of free children's activities such as lawn games, face painting and roving entertainers will make sure the kids are kept amused. There is even a Lego building area inside the house. You can bring along a picnic to enjoy on the Western Lawn, or buy food from a range of vendors on site, including tea and scones from the Country Women's Association. Oh, and don't miss the fly over by the Roulettes at 12.30 pm. You can check out the day's program here.
