Queensland's historic Government House has opened its gates for its annual Christmas lights display.

Created by Tim Brinums, a winner of many 4KQ Christmas Lights competitions, this is one light display not to be missed.

Over 12,000 bulbs and more than 1,750m of lights illuminate Fernberg, the official residence of the Queensland Governor, and its gardens. With a distinctly Australian theme, visitors can spot Australian animals including a kookaburra, possum and kangaroo.

This free, family-friendly event is open each night from 7-8pm until 17th December. Gavel, the Vice-Regal dog partakes in the festivities, wandering the grounds each evening, welcoming visitors.

Pedestrian access is via the Service Gate at 168 Fernberg Road. There is no onsite parking, however plenty of street parking available
