Combine food and film together and you have Gourmet Cinema for the second year running. On the lawns of Caulfield Racecourse this March, a list of iconic Melbourne restaurants are serving up their signature dishes paired with a themed film each night.
Watch La La Land with modern Vietnamese dishes by Uncle Melbourne or enjoy traditional Greek cuisine by Hellenic Republic Restaurant and Jimmy Grants. Benny Burger will host Top Gun with their organic, ethical and sustainable burgers. Mamasita and Hotel Jesus will have vegetarian and meat-friendly Mexican food. With many other movies and restaurants to choose from, you can attend this event as many nights that tantalise your taste buds.
Bring along a picnic blanket, pillows and small bean bags or a low beach chair and enjoy a night under the stars. Gourmet Cinema's partner restaurants and bars open from 6pm and with the movie screening at 8:15pm. Each movie includes a 20-minute intermission to get seconds of your favourite dishes, and to top up your glasses at the bar. There is no BYO at this event but feel free to bring your own food and nibbles.
