Gospel Sundays are all about worshipping wonderful summer Sundays, sunshine, whiskey and music at
Linden New Art, Boonwurrung Country, 26 Acland St, St Kilda. Open
every Sunday from 15 Jan to 5 Feb 2023 from 12.30pm to 3pm, this pop-up bar in the gardens of
LNA is here for a good time, not a long time, so take advantage by grabbing a picnic rug and spending lazy Sundays at St Kilda. Serving cold beverages thanks to
The Gospel Whiskey and live music thanks to
Live N Local, Linden is the place to be on the weekends to come.
Linden New Art is passionate about bringing the local community together with art as they support the creation of courageous new art. To further their involvement with the community, Linden is getting in on the action of St Kilda's lively bar scene and has brought in the big guns in experts, ready to serve some of the finest local whiskey-based beverages and more at their stunning site of historical and cultural significance.
The Gospel brings a distinct approach to traditional whiskey by using 100% Australian rye instead of barley to reimagine the traditional spirit. Locally made, everything is produced by hand under the guidance of Master Distiller, Ian Thorn. Also keen to bring the joy of music back to the community,
Live N Local will be providing live entertainment from bands such as Tamara & the Dreams, Lemon Daze, and The Gas Babies. Don't hesitate - no bookings required and entry is free. Linden is providing an opportunity to use and enjoy their stunning facility beyond the art.
Linden's CEO and Director, Vincent Alessi says "
Linden New Art is committed to creating a welcoming, fun and community-oriented gallery in the heart of St Kilda. A key component of this strategy is to provide opportunities for the community to come and use and enjoy the gallery as an art and community space. St Kilda has long been a place for people to come together to enjoy a drink, music and art, we can't wait to welcome people to indulge in all of these in the beautiful surroundings of Linden's gardens and courtyards".
Leonie Leivenzon - Unremembered HistoriesJust 3 days prior to Gospel Sundays, artist Leonie Leivenzon's
Unremembered Histories will be having an
Opening reception on Thursday 12 Jan 2023 from 6-8pm at the art gallery, with the exhibition running through till
Sun 12 February 2023. To attend the opening,

Unremembered Histories is the result of Leivenzon's creative process of gathering, manipulating and recycling lost pictures and breathing new life and meaning into the images, each representing a moment rescued from the amnesia of time's relentless advance. There are many other
meet the artist events (eg. Michael Kluge on Sat 21 Jan 2-3pm) and exhibitions happening, so take advantage of some, like the
Linden Postcard Show, while you're there for Gospel Sundays.
