Family park on the water in Greenwich
Whether you're looking for a quiet picnic spot, relaxing bushwalk, great kids' playground or simply just a spot to just stop and smell the roses, Gore Creek Reserve in Greenwich has something to offer just about everyone.

Accessed from St Vincents Road, Gore Creek Reserve is quietly tucked away in a little pocket of suburban bushland in Greenwich. The busy traffic of the Pacific Highway may be only a few minutes away, but you wouldn't know it.

As the park's name would suggest, Gore Creek Reserve fronts onto Gore Creek. With bushland and a steep embankment forming the reserve's other borders, Gore Creek Reserve is in its own quiet little world.

The reserve offers relaxing views out across the water to several gently bobbing boats, while at low tide you can watch wading birds searching for a meal. With such a peaceful outlook, the reserve is unsurprisingly quite a popular picnic spot with locals.

Picnic tables and barbecues are on offer to help you make the most of the space, while there's also no shortage of grassy spots in the sun. In fact, the reserve is home to a sporting oval with a cricket pitch, which means there's ample space for the kids to run out all their pent-up energy.

But if that doesn't tire them out, half an hour exploring the playground towards the rear of the park should do the trick. There's a giant swing and a jungle gym to keep them entertained for as long as possible.

If you're feeling more adventurous, the reserve is also along the route of a lovely little bushwalk. Heading towards the water you can wander around the Gore Creek foreshore, or you can follow the track at the rear of the park and into the bush. It's an easy track with a few steps to negotiate, taking you past Lilly Pilly Falls, under River Road and to nearby Lane Cove Bushland Park. The trail is less than three kilometres return and is a very relaxing way to spend a morning.
