Having spent the Saturday morning at Red Hill farmers' market, we wanted to make the most of our Peninsula day trip. is located in Red Hill, so only a short 6-minute drive from the farmers' market, whilst passing by some gorgeous wineries. It's very tempting to stop at each one, but unfortunately, we didn't have all day and we had a booking for lunch at Merrick's general wine store .

As you approach the studio and car park, there is a wonderful glass sculpture garden which greets you as you enter the gallery.
The Art Glass gallery is run by Gordon and Eileen, whose fabulous artworks are on display. They can always customise a piece to suit your decor or style. The gallery is light and bright with rural landscape views out of the large windows.

From the mezzanine floor of the Art Glass gallery, one can view the Hot Glass Studio. Unfortunately, on this day, Melbourne temperatures had reached 37 degrees and may have been too hot to see any demonstrations. Instead, there was a LED screen showing some glass blowing techniques which is always mesmerising to watch. Or if you prefer, you can book yourself into a workshop. A two-day workshop teaches you to make a variety of beads in the traditional Venetian techniques of bead making. Or if you prefer a beginner's workshop on Glass blowing . These are running through to April.

Would make a great gift for someone or if you are feeling creative, try something new today!
