Goodness Me Organics café and grocer is the newest addition to Newcastle's rising market for wholesome organic food. Conveniently located on Glebe Road in Adamstown, this combined organic grocer and café boasts seasonal produce and organically grown foods that will do your body proud. Whether you're vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian or just love eating organically, this place will cater for you.

Meander through the grocery shelves to pick up fresh fruit and veggies, meat, honey, bread, pasta, canned goods, icecream, toiletries and almost any other thing you need – all organically certified of course. The chef has also prepared frozen meals such as '"vegie napoletana" or "curried chicken and red lentils" for reheating at home.

Step through to the café and select a seating option of either funky lounge chairs, inside tables or tables on the outside veranda. If you're feeling particularly relaxed, the basket of colourful quilts on the veranda invites you to spread one on the grass and enjoy your coffee picnic-style. This is a great idea for families with small children on a cool day, as the grass area is in full sun.

Order at the counter from a choice of all-day breakfast options or some well-selected lunches. The vegetable frittata with a side salad is delicious. The salad leaves and vegetables taste as fresh as though munching straight from the café's backyard herb garden.

Healthy smoothies like the refreshing "Purple Pow" blend of banana, acai berries and rice milk are also worth trying. If the breakfast or lunch menus don't take your fancy, you may want to pick something from the deli cabinet in the way of fresh salads, sushi or sweets. Lunch menu ranges from about $10 - $15, smoothies are $8 and coffee is $4.50.

Quirky décor of patterned sugar canisters and cute table numbers give the venue an arty feel, while the staff is friendly and service is fast.

The grocery shelves aren't completely full yet because the store just opened early March 2013, so staff members are happy to order in any of your organic requests. For the latest updates from Goodness Me Organics, check out their facebook page .
