Wake up to a luxurious decadent lobster benedict
If there are two dishes that sum up a luxurious cafe experience of breakfast or weekend brunch here at Goodfields Eatery, they have got to be the Lobster Benedict and "Christmas on a plate' Bread n Butter pudding. So popular are these dishes, I would call them "a pleasant twist on the classics" and you must try them!
Cafe culture in Sydney's North Shore just keeps getting better and better. Goodfields Eatery may be the newest addition to Lindfield's cafe scene but it is fast becoming a local favourite. Recently opened, they are doing a fantastic job tantalising the locals' palate with an elevated cafe menu.
This newly refurbished cafe looks bright and airy. It is designed by the famed interior design studio, Giant Design (Red Lantern on Riley, Li'l Darlin' and Workshop Espresso). The numerous plants add some greenery & life and overall, it is a very friendly and pleasant place for a weekend breakfast.
Their motto is to provide good quality food and coffee
The father and son duo, George and Anthony Karnasiotis (ex.The Butcher's Block), clearly created another successful brunch spot which has everyone talking for all the right reasons. The most noticeable success indicator is the crowd of people waiting for a table.
The focus here is the welcoming staff who serve up excellent coffee, fresh juices and a breakfast to remember. It was encouraging for me to meet & thank them for making Sydney cafe culture so incredible. George and his team show a true passion and flair for food and flavours.
While the venue gives off a relaxed vibe all thanks to the team's friendly service, these guys take morning coffee very seriously. All of its coffees are blended by the guys from Five Senses. My guest absolutely loved her coffee. Consistency was spot on.
I ordered a handcrafted ginger & lemon myrtle kombucha to help me start the day. Kombucha is known as the "Immortal Health Elixir" by the ancient Far East. It has been reinvented and is now known around the world for its detoxifying and energising effects. I hope my body will thank me for my 'proactive' approach to reach my health fitness.
Most of us probably had eggs benedict with ham, smoked salmon or spinach. Now try it with - butter roasted lobster tail!
When you see an indulgent ingredient like lobster on the menu, you know this is definitely not your average cafe food. It is an upgrade of the classic version of eggs benedict with a special crustacean hollandaise sauce. The lobster just triumphs above everything.
The lobster tail is roasted slowly in rich butter, then the kitchen make a special crustacean Hollandaise sauce which is poured over the lobster and poached free-range eggs are placed atop a toasted seeded bagel.
This delicious lobster benedict is an excellent idea if you want to pleasantly surprise someone on their birthday or an anniversary without breaking the bank. Or you can just savour it secretly because you just have an excellent taste in food.
My salmon fillet looked simply elegant on the plate. The salmon was juicy and tender with a super crispy skin. The refreshing beetroot salad on the side consisted of baby beetroot, beetroot hummus, feta and herbs which was all seasoned and dressed slightly. Highly recommended.
There's more that I'd love to go back to try, including the lamb shank. It looked like a beauty! The meat from the slow cooker lamb shank looked as if it was literally falling off the bone. A great classic Greek-style hearty dish.
It's an evolving menu, so you'll see some seasonal changes but the long-standing favourites will stay. The Karnasiotis promise they will update the menu with innovation while acknowledging their cultural past.

We changed our mind on desserts when a friendly staff told me about their signature desserts. Specifically, they have reinvented traditional bread and butter pudding with yummy extras and secret recipes. She insisted that we must give it a try. It was a fantastic recommendation!
It may not look much but this bread and butter pudding tasted so divine - my guest exclaimed it tasted like "Christmas on a plate!" They have used croissants as the base and added orange marmalade at the top. It was wonderfully decadent when eaten with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
The cream brulee is always a classic and it will always put a smile on our faces. The dainty chocolate tart looked too cute for words.
Everyone should have at least one Greek friend because they will make you wonderfully at ease with their generosity, inventiveness and celebration spirit, but if for some unforgivable reason you don't, head to Goodfields Eatery in Lindfield and experience their vibrant hospitality and amazing cafe food first hand.
I believe the best way to appreciate the Lobster Benedict and the Bread n Butter pudding is to try it for yourself, so why not head to the North Shore and enjoy a decadent breakfast or weekend brunch this week.
