Goodbuns Diner, one of the eateries that are part of the recently opened Home Ground area at Adelaide Convention Centre, is the place to go if you have the craving for burgers or hot dogs. Service was quite efficient with our food not taking too long to arrive after we placed our order.

We really enjoyed the beef patty in the Goodbun Classic Cheese Burger. It was very succulent and had a "char-grilled" flavour. The dill pickles and onions complemented the beef well with their tangy flavours, and the creamy taste of the American cheese helped to tie everything together.

For a burger that is a bit more filling, you can consider the Goodbun with the Lot. The bacon had the perfect degree of crispiness and the addition of beetroot added a slight bit of sweetness to the burger. There was also a good amount of lettuce and tomato to balance the rich taste of the beef with their freshness. Onion rings, fried till golden brown, topped the burger.

Their Classic Vienna Style Hot Dog had a smoky flavour. This smokiness was enhanced by the fried onions, and the tangy mustard and tomato sauce gave the dish the taste that you would expect from an American hot dog. For a more filling dish, you can choose to add Chilli Con Carne for a bit of an extra cost.

Goodbuns Diner's Loaded Wonder Fries came with a generous serving of chilli, which had a wonderful meaty texture with the degree of spiciness ideal for most diners. To our delight, the chilli did not mar the crispiness of the fries, which made eating the dish an enjoyable experience. This dish also had a topping of grated cheese and what seemed like aioli to temper the spiciness of the chilli mixture a bit.

When you dine there, you can dine in the indoor cafe-like setting or choose to sit in the outdoor area overlooking the River Torrens and Adelaide Oval. Goodbuns Diner is a great place to satisfy your hunger before or after an event at Adelaide Oval or Adelaide Convention Centre.
