Good Shepherd Primary School in Kelmscott celebrates their 40th birthday with an Anniversary Fair on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Accordingly, all past and current families and friends, plus the general community are invited to an Open Day of fun, discovery and meeting old friends.
The many activities planned for the kids, include a Special Good Shepherd Rock Hunt, jumping castles and an old-fashioned dunking machine to dunk the teachers. All year groups are involved, including each class, making slime, play dough, lavender bags and the like. Add the markets, entertainment, activities and school displays showcasing the many changes the school has enjoyed over 40 years, for a great trip down memory lane.
The school plans to have a memory lane storytelling, where some members of the past and present community get together and reflect on the school when they attended, and what the current students love about the place.
Don't miss the display of memorabilia in the main hall (called Ward House), featuring photo displays of past students and family activities.
The Parents and Friends Group are committed to Community Building, Friend-raising and Fundraising - this year's School Fair an active demonstration of that commitment. Moreover, the group is working towards completing their commitment to refurbish the years 3,4,5 and 6 classrooms with state of the art workspaces (desks etc.) to promote flexible learning.
Drop by, meet old friends (who often seem to age faster than ourselves), make some new ones, have fun, travel down memory lane and support this small school of around 220 students. Keep in the loop and check out their Facebook page for the latest updates.
