Good Morning Asian Grocery

If you live on the North Side of Brisbane, not only is there a decided lack of great Asian restaurants, you can't even cook a decent Asian meal without a trip to the Valley or further south to buy Asian food. However there is one exception, and that is the store in Chermside.
Good Morning is run by Koreans so it tends to be a very good place for Korean and Japanese groceries. However they also stock a wide variety of other products, especially Vietnamese, Filipino and Chinese.
You can also buy other products, such as Woks, Steamers, bowls and so on. All reasonably priced, but you might be better off going to Daiso in Westfield Chermside for a wider and cheaper selection. But if you are looking for a decent wok, this is the place to go.
Overall a good little Asian grocery store with a wide variety of products. Definitely the best on the North Side of Brisbane unless you head down to the valley. It is also clean, neat, well organised and is open from 9 am to 9 pm 7 days a week.
Some highlights include the wide selection of Asian ice creams, like Japanese watermelon ice cream in a little plastic watermelon and black sesame ice cream. There are also many different types of frozen dumplings suitable for steaming, boiling or frying. I also go there to pick up some Korean snacks for parties.
One last note, because the shop is often staffed by the kids of the owner and they are incredibly polite, it is worth learning how to act politely when you go into a Korean store. Remember, for hello, goodbye and thank you, nod your head. When paying and accepting change, use two hands to be polite.
