Summary

In Good Housekeeping’s cookbook with Susan Westmoreland, there are a couple of recipes worth talking about.

The cookbook states that they are America’s most trusted test kitchen, fast and fuss-free one pan recipes for weeknight meals or dinner parties—includes photos.

  • Bacon & Egg Fried Rice

  • A good idea for leftover rice—throw in bacon and eggs for a tasty twist on dinner!

Canola oil, bacon, green onion, baby spinach, cooked white rice, peas, salt and eggs.

Divide rice among 4 main-dish serving plates. Top with fried eggs!

  • Mushroom Quesadillas

  • Take this recipe, throw in mushrooms, then a few pantry staples and you’ve got dinner!

Vegetable oil, mushrooms, salt, salsa, corn kernels, flour tortillas, Monterey Jack shredded cheese then sour cream for garnish.

    Opinion

I have highlighted two of the best recipes that I have found in the cookbook.

I was misled though. Many recipes require placing the skillet in the oven. I do not use an oven. As for skillets, I use a countertop burner.

Loan the cookbook from your local library first. If you are a pro with a skillet, especially at placing in an oven, then you just might like this cookbook better than myself!

I give this cookbook a 4-star rating out of 5.
