Entrenched in the Sydney foodie scene for fifteen years and with a few years ingratiating itself with the food-loving public of Melbourne, Good Food Month is at last heading north this winter and alighting in Brisbane for a full four weeks of foodie fun. Well, how can you possibly celebrate all that's good about the Brisbane food scene in only a couple of days?

From breakfasts to bar hops, dining deals to desserts, high teas to 'hats off' dinners, cooking classes to community events, markets to maestros of the kitchen, if it's got anything to do with food you'll find it at this gastronomic gala event. And it's not just Brisbane that's putting on a show. Many events and offers are also available in regional areas.

If you want to know every detail and event you can download the program here or pick up copies at Harvey Norman stores, Scrumptious Reads, Jan Power Farmers Markets and Cannon Hill Farmers Markets. For a summary of some of the inaugural Brisbane event's highlights read on. It's important to note that not all deals are available every day and that some are offered during set hours. You will find all the details for any offer on the website .

Breakfast Club The Breakfast Club

Some of Brisbane's best restaurants are catering for breakfast aficionados (like me) with special breakfast menus during the month for the bargain basement price of $20. So start your day off with a bang by sampling delights such as 'lemon pikelets, fresh strawberries, strawberry sauce, demerara sugar and yoghurt' from Alfred and Constance , 'Thai chicken omelette or house-made coconut crumpet with lemon curd' from Chow House or 'creamed sweetcorn with chilli, poached eggs, Persian fetta and pinenuts on toasted organic sourdough' from Pourboy Espresso .
Hop Bar Hop

This one is an invitation to enjoy a little something to eat that's perfectly matched to the special cocktail created by some of Brisbane's best mixologists, and all for only $20. Participating venues have each created a special cocktail featuring Tanqueray Gin, which will be served with delectable delicacies. How does 'classic Tanqueray martini with fried crumbed olives stuffed with goat's cheese' sound? You can get it at Ole's Sangria Bar . Or what about a Limes Hotel 's Bloomsbury Fizz? It's 'Tanqueray gin, orange liqueur, fresh lime, mint, house-made orgeat and orange bitters, topped with sparkling', served with duck liver parfait, candied orange, frisée and baguette. Would a Dirty Boulevard (Tanqueray gin, kaffir–ginger jelly, fresh ginger, spiced brown sugar and apple juice) from The End really wet your whistle along with a classic cheeseboard?

Do Lunch Let's Do Lunch

People all over Brisbane will be making lunch dates at a host of participating restaurants throughout July. That's because you'll be able to enjoy one or two courses (depending on the restaurant) along with tea/coffee, a glass of event partners wine or Coopers Beer or a sparkling or still mineral water for only $38. Try 'seared swordfish with beetroot and fetta' from Bucci , Custom House Restaurant 's 'pork croquette, cinnamon apple and fried kale or Il Centro 's famous sandcrab lasagne and a decadent chocolate trio. Yum.

Night Noodle Markets

Night Noodle Markets are arguably the hit of Good Food Month in Sydney and Melbourne. Well, what's not to love about Asian hawker markets in a beautiful park in the city? Brisbane is blessed to have South Bank as the perfect venue for its inaugural Night Noodle Markets from Thursday July 17th to Sunday July 27th. Many Asian cuisines and famous Brisbane restaurants will be represented.

Let's Do Dessert

Those with a sweet tooth have not been forgotten in the programming. Let's Do Dessert, not surprisingly, provides a decadent dessert, coupled with a glass of 2012 Yalumba FSW8B Botrytis Viognie for $20. Deer Duck Bistro 's 'dark chocolate brûlée, cocoa nib tuile, and mascarpone sorbet' sounds like a winner, as does the 'sticky date soufflé with toffee sauce and vanilla ice-cream' from Bacchus .

Eat up, drink up and enjoy everything the Brisbane food scene has to offer this July.
