Up to your ears in beers
Good Beer Week (GBW) celebrates a milestone in 2021 - happy 10th birthday! GBW will run from 14 - 23 May 2021. As the biggest beer week in the southern hemisphere, GBW always pushes boundaries in terms of unique drinking spaces. This year is no different. Look forward to such standout venues as St Paul's Cathedral, top of the Melbourne Star, and Puffing Billy.
GBW celebrates its 10th birthday in 2021, offering over 200 events and activities
GBW is also adopting a new stream for 2021 - Active Beers. The aim is to highlight the importance of balancing quality beer with an active lifestyle. For example, The Tubular Trinity offers a surf 'n' turf experience. Taking place in Urbnsurf, Tullamarine, participants will have an hour in the surf, followed by a pint of Bridge Road Brewers, and a beer matched lunch from The Three Blue Ducks. The Tubular Trinity takes place on Sunday 23 May from 11:00am - 2:00pm ($135). More information here.

Or take part in what's being billed as 'the west's only scav-hunt pub crawl'. You'll be hunting for ridiculous objects and photos as you make your way between Fox in the Corn, Chip's Loft, and Bar Josephine. Bar tabs and prize packs are up for grabs. Get a team together and get involved! Fortune & Glory starts from Fox in the Corn, 4 Droop Street, Footscray, and takes place on Saturday 15 May from 1:00pm - 6:00pm. Tickets are $35. Information and tickets here.
In a more relaxed event, the Sun Theatre in Yarraville has paired with Two Birds Brewing to offer a special screening of Thelma and Louise. Your ticket ($35) includes two Two Birds Brewery beers to enjoy during the film. The film will be introduced by Jayne, one of the birds from Two Birds. The special screening of Thelma and Louise takes place on Sunday 23 May from 2:00pm - 4:30pm. More information here.
Beers for Queers features performances hosted by Melbourne's hottest drag kings and Beers for Queers' resident hosts, Dazza and Keif. Come down early and browse the queer market stalls, or enjoy a delicious meal from The Fox Hotel's vegan-friendly menu and sample some of the specially brewed LGBTQIA beers on offer. The dance floor will be pumping with DJs from 4pm 'til late. Get involved with this inclusive event on Saturday 15 May from 4:00pm - late. It's free entry, but you'll need to register as numbers are limited. Click here for more information.
