The popular area of Mooloolaba on the Queensland's Sunshine Coast has always been a hub for locals and tourists alike. Whether it is sitting back having a stacked breakfast of poached eggs, bacon, smashed avocado and feta on sourdough with your almond milk coffee, it is safe to say it is heavily breakfast/brunch driven and more often than not very much a healthy-esk vibe that is floating around the beach town. Therefore, when a venue opens to challenge this mentality it will draw some intrigue. I for one, am extremely proud of the trio that have opened up something that the coast was in much dire need of; and what is that you ask? A damn good diner. Walk in Good Bar.

Good Bar is every delicious guilty pleasure that I know even those healthy type cave into once in a while. The diner, inspired by famous London burger joints such as MeatLiquor, is a breath of fresh hot wings that the coast desperately needed.

The venue has been open for just over a month now and has managed to win the hearts of many locals. Situated just behind the main esplanade, the bar/restaurant has officially cemented itself as a go-to hotspot for local hipsters, families and the cool crowd.

When you head to Good Bar you can't miss it, a large sign which clearly states what is on offer hits you smack on, followed by the tantalizing aroma of quality beef getting cooked up in the back kitchen. I knew I had finally found a place that I wanted to genuinely sit down and enjoy.

Heading there with a few mates was great and we ended up ordering a selection off the menu. First up was some irresistible charred corn with Good Bar's house Chipolte Sauce (to die for). Who knew juicy corn with a hint of smoke worked so well. Teamed with the house Chipolte was just the perfect finishing touch.

Next up was a really, really, ridiculously good burger, funnily enough called The Good Burger. How did we know it was going to be good? It was cooked to perfection with melted cheese a ranch, mustard and tomato sauce and topped with gratifying pickles! It's the kind of burger that allows you to get your hands and face messy whilst just slowly making you contemplate if you want to pop that top jean button open to keep going.....and trust me, you do.

Approaching our table next was the oh-so-firey 'Hot As Hell Fried Wings' smothered in a Texas BBQ sauce and 'Satan's' Siracha. Now, luckily enough this comes with a side of hot water and lemon to clean your sticky fingers after you defeat this mountain of chicken. Just the right amount of heat is evident in this item, and you can always ask for some Chipolte sauce on the side. But, to be completely honest, these wings are packed with so much flavour your taste buds will be begging for more.

One of the cheekier items on the menu, and quite daring if you are scared of heated peppers, is the Hot Jalepenos. They are all crumbed with no seeds, however one out of the bunch will be packed full of seeds. You will have to play roulette with these little mouthfuls of joy and hopefully you are not the unlucky one who picks the culprit.

The mains of the bar include the 7th Day Schnitzel. Succulent chicken breast, crumbed to perfection with a side of salad and of course the house chipolte. A great option for those who are not massive red meat fans. The portion is huge and definitely worth the buck.

A standout menu option, I must say, was The Transcendence, which combines slow-cooked beef brisket, Texas BBQ sauce and southern style slaw. If you want to be transported to the deep south, this is the dish for you. The meat literally melts in your mouth and is packed full of flavour. The slaw is crunchy and creamy and is a definite win when combined with the brisket.

I should mention here that all mains come with a side of fries (obviously not the salad) but all burgers and hot dogs. Deals like this don't seem to happen all that often these days so that is always a bonus.

Those watching what they eat have the option to scoff down the Absolution Salad. This delicious creation combines quinoa brown rice, seeds, pomegranate and sliced orange. A perfect cure for the summer heat, and a healthy option for those watching their calories.

Lastly is the popular side dish of Communion Chips with house chipolte. These are crunchy, waffle-cut chips that are just much better looking than your average straight-up fries. A bowl of these bad boys will be gobbled down in no time between friends. Trust me, this is exactly what happened when it came out to our table of five. Definitely worth buying a few baskets of these snackies.
