The Golden Square Fish and Chip Shop has recently been taken over by new management. This awesome local takeaway store has some pretty strong selling points. The Golden Square Fish and Chip shop is fast becoming our favourite Fish and Chip shop in Bendigo.

They have also expanded their digital brand to include an iPhone app that you can order your Fish and Chips from. How cool is that?
I'm not sure how often I would need an App to order my Fish and Chips but the fact that they have it available is a massive bonus for me. Their online ordering system was seamless when we used it. It is a stark increase from the Fish and Chip shops that don't have their menu available online. From here, we were able to put our larger order together easily without missing anything at all.
Local Delivery AvailableStepping away from the traditional offering of Bendigo Fish and Chips shops they also offer local delivery for only $4. Whilst we didn't take advantage of their delivery option for this order, we will be keeping it in mind for future dinner options.
With all of these perks ordering from the Golden Square Fish and Chip shop is just too easy.
Great ServiceOn top of the easy to deal with digital presence, the owners and staff are always amazingly personable and fun to talk to. They take great care when taking your order to ensure that everything is perfect. When packing up your delicious food they don't rush you out the door, but make sure you're happy before you leave. In the case of our latest order, they even offered to take it out to the car for me. How sweet.
Now that we have covered the awesome service and ease of dealing with them let's get into the important stuff. How was their food?
Delicious Food
We had a large group to feed so were able to get quite a large sample of the menu in this one order. We got the basics (Chips, Potato Cakes, Dim Sims) as well as some of the more individualised items (Steak Sandwich, Lamb Souvlaki).
We can attest that absolutely everything that we ordered was cooked perfectly. The steak in the steak sandwiches was perfectly done. Not too chewy and not too dry. Just right. The lamb souvlaki was soaked in their aromatic garlic sauce and the lamb fell apart. The butter fish was delectable. The dim sims, potato cakes and crab sticks were crispy and covered in salt - just the way you want them. The medium serve of chips was more than enough to feed all of us.

The costs were quite small coming in at $55 to feed 6 adults.
They do have EFTPOS available but have a $10 minimum. A quick note that the charge will appear as 'Boos Diner' on your bank statement. This confused us the first time charge that we put through but was easily found out.
Overall
All in all the Golden Square Fish and Chip shop is a great local option. The food is good, the service is great and they're always putting together new offerings. I would highly recommend giving the Fish and Chip shop a try next time you in good old Golden Square.
