Golden Moon Festival at Forest Lake

The Golden Moon in Eastern Culture represents the arrival of a new age, as the moon spreads it's rays of light, spreading peace and prosperity through every town and village. Organisers of the Golden Moon Festival in Forest Lake aim to bring members of the local community together to promote communal peace and harmony. This will be a celebration that, despite our different beliefs and backgrounds, will help all to find a common ground and join together in happiness.

The Golden Moon Festival Stage Performances Will Enthrall Audiences

Now in it's second year, the Golden Moon festival will feature food and fashion stalls, dance and martial arts classes, and yoga, face painting and henna skin decorations. These stalls will run from 4:30pm as the prelude to the main performance event at 5:30pm. This year the guest performer is the international star John 'Jayadev' Richardson from the United Kingdom. He will lead the beautiful Mantra Choir, whose resounding harmonies will touch your soul. Jayadev's performances in over fifteen countries have engaged every audience member, having them singing beautiful harmonies within minutes. He promises to have the whole of the community singing together in one of his own mantras in a very short space of time, regardless of their musical experience, stirring spirits amongst all attendees.

The festival is an initiative of ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Conciousness) Youth and Food For Life, a non-profit organisation which focuses on the provision of healthy and nutritious foods in some of the most disadvantaged communities across the world. There will be plenty to keep the whole family occupied, so join together with family and friends to celebrate community spirit down at the Forest Lake Parklands overlooking the Lake on Forest Lake Boulevard. Parking will be available in surrounding streets, or you could catch a train to Richlands Station, then a bus to Forest Lake Shopping Centre. To find out more visit the festival Website.
